I lived the lockdown during the Covid-19 in Turin, with my husband and my three-years old son obliged to stay inside a 38 mq apartment.
The time seemed longer while the space was getting every day smaller. In my mind, the idea of this image has taken place as an antidote to that state of suspension and isolation. Its title, Battiti Per Minuto in a pandemic symphony is inspired by a term used in Classic Music for the rates of the heartbeat measured with the metronome. That disciplinate sound reminds me the succession of thoughts during the nights of the first Italian lockdown.
