I spent the first lockdown in Italy on March – April 2020 in Turin, with my husband and three-years old son obliged to stay inside a 38 mq apartment.

Every day the time seemed longer while the space was getting smaller. In my mind, the idea of this image has take its form to define that state of suspension and isolation. Its title, Battiti Per Minuto in a pandemic symphony is inspired by a term used in Classical Music to define hearbeat’s rates measured with the metronome. That disciplinate sound reminds me the succession of thoughts during the nights of the first Italian lockdown.
