This position will be juxtaposed with analytical presentations reflecting on the role of mass media in shaping the image of the radical. THE DAY OF ANGER 14th May 2011 LP2 Space for Ideas, Rotterdam, NL
A decade after 9/11, radicalism remains a hot topic and is regarded as negative by definition. But born out of idealism, wasn't it often also a force for social change? And who is radical and who decides so? Radicals, policymakers and scientists will discuss the value of anger in today's society. Wanda Elzenga of the Ministry of Security and Justice, ex-activist and radicalisation expert Jean Tillie and student and writer Izz ad-Din Ruhulessin talk about the tension between the government and the radical. Photographer Ad van Denderen will take part in the discussion of the Days of Anger in the Arab world and the media representation of the events. Sarah Pickering, Eva Frapiccini, Jasper Groen, Eva Leitolf, Jullian Roder will talk about their work in the exhibition ANGRY and the role it plays in perception of the radical. Astrid Proll, photographer and editor of the book Pictures on the Run will discuss her work and her past affiliation with RAF.

About ON.

UNA SITUAZIONE DA COSTRUIRE curated by Bert Theis and Matteo Lucchetti
Milano, Isola Art Center 11.12.2011Dart Game#Milano is an interactive game commenting on the rules for success, in Milan as in any other city in the world. Some catch-phrases like pi' soldi spendi, piu' bella figura fai (The more money you spend, the better impression you'll make) or Guadagno-Pago-Pretendo (I earn-I pay-I pretend) reference Milan's golden age, the 1980s, and the slang vocabulary of the stereotypical yuppie. Other expressions, like Le amicizie giuste (The right friendships), Faccio quello che voglio (I do whatever I want) or Non sembrare mai morti di fame (Never appear a skinflint) condense in words a behaviour that is a social status. In Dart Game#Milano, the viewer plays darts and can aim at one of the rules for success, although to only win something useless, like empty batteries, used cds, finished paper rolls, as to highlight with irony the uselessness and exhaustion hidden behind success.

EXIBART Bandiere non ufficiali come risvolta silenziosa... by Giorgio Cravero About the Group Exhibition RICERCA TRA LE RIGHE

About the work 106 STATALE JONICA

LAW TEXT CULTURE Annual Review, University of Sidney, Australia Interview by Rebecca Scott Bray
DECEMBER 2009 Text in English[Rebecca Scott Bray: In your opening statement to your book you write of every place having a story to tell that sometimes is available only to people who know them, or remember them. For others, they are known 'only in passing' and you include yourself in this before Muri di piombo. What was the impetus behind the work?; and what was your aim?
Eva Frapiccini: I began the project during the first year of my photography studies in Turin in 2003. Having graduated in Art History from Bologna in November 2002, I was looking for work and applied to various art schools. I moved to Turin thanks to a scholarship that was the only one offered to the three year course in Photography at the European Design Institute there. But before I moved there I just knew Turin as the headquarters of Fiat's historic car industry. My first year in Turin was very difficult, because this new city was very different, in style and social expectations, from my university town of Bologna. Even the street life of Turin ran to a different timetable, more like some industrial city anywhere in the world. This change in my emotional landscape led me to reflect on the relationship between places and the habits of the people who live there, including the face of the city; the feelings that a place transmits in the traces of the subjects living there; the atmosphere of a room from the lives of its inhabitants; the streets of a city from the history of its people...]
