2015 [pigment prints on Hahnemuhle archival paper, dimensions variable]
The series Velluto (Velvet) starts from the reflections about the process of sedimentation and removal of the memory, expressed by the neurologist and philosopher Israel Rosenfield in his book The Invention of Memory. According to Rosenfield, sensory input is a necessary condition for the construction of memory. In the cognitive process, emotions play a decisive role in the recording of memory, while successive retellings deconstruct and reconstruct it endlessly.
