H.M.D.A.M. was created for the final exhibition of Nosadella.due in Bologna, in 2014, as the residency space was about to close.
The work draws on a personal memory: during a night spent at Nosadella.due, I received the news that my father had been hospitalized in critical condition. Unable to return home, I spent the night suspended between waiting, distance and uncertainty. He died shortly afterwards.
In the following years, returning to that room revived the same sense of helplessness. H.M.D.A.M. confronts this memory and connects it to another form of precariousness: that of independent art spaces and their uncertain future.
